Tom Raffa

Tom Raffa is a CPA who has spent more than four decades building financial infrastructure for the nonprofit sector. A 1976 graduate of Georgetown University's business school, where he studied accounting, he founded Raffa, P.C. in 1984 and grew it into one of the 100 largest accounting firms in the United States, specializing in nonprofits and purpose-driven businesses, before merging it into Marcum LLP in 2018 and leading Marcum's Nonprofit and Social Sector Group. He founded Companies for Causes, which received the Pearl Foundation Award for Innovation in Philanthropy, and was a founding board member of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, which honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award. Georgetown named him Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016, and he has mentored students at the McDonough School of Business for more than twenty years. He is a co-founder of Pierag Consulting and serves as Treasurer of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. Tom serves as Campfire's financial advisor, bringing nonprofit finance and governance expertise to the foundation as it builds a transparent alternative in music streaming.
