Privacy policy
Last updated May 14, 2026. This policy describes how Campfire Music Foundation collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to cfmusic.org. Questions: johannes@cfmusic.org.
Counsel review pending. This is a working draft that follows standard nonprofit privacy disclosure practice. CMF’s legal counsel should review and customize before launch, particularly regarding analytics tooling, donor data handling, and applicable state privacy laws.
Campfire Music Foundation (“we,” “our,” or “the foundation”) is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 88-3475249, with a registered address at 444 Newton Ave S, Minneapolis MN 55405. We operate cfmusic.org (“the website”).
When you visit the website without taking an action, we may collect basic technical information automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. When you submit a form, sign up for the newsletter, join the waitlist, or make a donation, we collect the information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and donation details.
Donations are processed by Givebutter, a third-party payment processor. Card numbers and banking information are handled by Givebutter and its payment partners; the foundation does not directly store or process payment card data.
We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, process and acknowledge donations, send the newsletter you subscribed to, comply with IRS reporting and state charitable solicitation requirements, and improve the website.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share donor information with third parties for marketing or fundraising purposes. We share information only with: service providers we use to operate the website and process donations (payment processor, email service, form host, content management system); government authorities when required by law; and the foundation’s authorized representatives bound by confidentiality.
If you donate, your information is kept in the foundation’s donor records for legal, accounting, and stewardship purposes. You may request anonymity for public recognition. You may also request to be removed from solicitation lists at any time. See the Donor Bill of Rights on the Transparency page for full donor commitments.
The website uses minimal cookies necessary for site functionality. The foundation values privacy-respecting analytics and is selecting a tool that does not require a cookie banner or share data with advertising platforms. The chosen tool will be named here once finalized.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing johannes@cfmusic.org. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You may cancel a recurring donation at any time as described on the Donate page FAQ.
The website is not directed to children under 13, and the foundation does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Substantive changes will be announced via the newsletter and on the website.
