Michael Bracy

Michael Bracy is a veteran advocate, strategist, and entrepreneur who has spent over 25 years working at the intersection of culture, emerging technologies, and public policy. As the Founder of Music Policy Forum and Founder Emeritus of the Future of Music Coalition, he is a nationally recognized leader in bridging the gap between the music community and policymakers. His work has shaped the modern music landscape through successful advocacy for artists' rights, including direct payment of digital royalties, protecting non-commercial radio, and championing net neutrality.

Michael strategized the Music Modernization Act of 2018 and organized the Save Our Stages campaign, which spurred the formation of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and secured $16 billion in government relief through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant, the largest federal arts investment in American history. He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, where he teaches the Music Industry Seminar and leads music policy efforts for the school.
