Brendan Canty

Brendan Canty is a musician, composer, producer, and filmmaker best known as the drummer of the pioneering post-hardcore band Fugazi, with whom he recorded and toured from 1987 until the band's indefinite hiatus in 2003. A prolific film composer, he has scored documentaries for National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, and ESPN's 30 for 30 series, and co-founded the film production company Trixie, producing the acclaimed Burn to Shine music film series. Canty currently plays in The Messthetics alongside Fugazi bassist Joe Lally and guitarist Anthony Pirog, and has taught at Georgetown University, where Campfire's founding leadership first connected with him through his documentary filmmaking course.
